Wii boxart revealed

The style of box art to be used by Wii is now known. Interestingly there's no mention of Nintendo on it anywhere, only the 'Wii' logo. Check out two examples below:

Well, the DS has the same thing. It's just that Nintendo is in the Nintendo DS' name. I can only see the trusty red Nintendo logo on one of my DS boxes (Sonic Rush), while it's on every single one of my Gamecube boxes.

That looks so awesome! Though the monkey ball game shouldn't have the wiimote in it.

Just for the record I liked the Gamecube's better.

Ooh! Pretty nice. Can't say the same for the art on Spongebob though.

It may be simple, but I think that it's appropriate. Given the Wii's a simple system, it should have simple art. I think it looks great and perfect for what they're trying to do. Also, the reason for a lack of Nintendo logos is because Nintendo doesn't want the brand the console as much, so it seems more like its own product rather than a Nintendo product. Heh, but we all know what kind of heart beats deep down inside of it, so no worries for me.

At first I thought it was dissapointing but after reading Spex's post it makes sense . A simple system needs simple box art.

I prefer having the Nintendo logo at the front, maybe above the "wii". The wii logo is just a bit plain.
