Wii breaks Amazon UK record

Wii breaks Amazon UK record

The Wii is now Amazon UK's fastest selling item in their entire history.

This honour has previously been held by the likes of Harry Potter and Coldplay's album "X&Y". Manager of Amazon's video game section James Schall commented that the response was "phenomenal".

The online store sold through their initial allocation of consoles within a 7 minute window.

Wow that's crazy, 7 minutes. Man Wii sure is causing a storm. Sony has to be so jealous. This is great news too because the more they sell the more support we get.

I managed to get one of these, it's amazing how quickly they went, apparently they were to start selling from 9am. However had to sit there until 9:35 before they started selling and then I'm probably lucky I had one click purchase on as it was gone just after when I refreshed the page. Now to pick the games.

Sony and Microsoft got pwnt in 7 minutes. However, this is nowhere near the first time they've gotten pwnt by Nintendo.

That's almost as fast as the U2 concert sold out over here in New Zealand (5 minutes).

True Ekaj185, I was one of those lucky people who attended the U2 concert. Unfortunately New Zealand is owned by Sony and Microsoft.
