Wii sales up in Japan

Wii sales up in Japan

Games hardware sales figures for the week of April 23rd - 29th in Japan have been revealed. They show that Wii sales are up, and continue to make a mockery of the PS3 in an 8:1 ratio.

  • DS Lite - 255,971
  • Wii - 102,522
  • PSP - 33,860
  • PS3 - 12,791
  • Xbox 360 - 3,162

Who knows, in future maybe the Xbox 360 will overtake PS3 in Japan. That would be something.

The Wii's sales were down at a point? I thought they were doing just fine with 10,000 consoles being sold a day. But then again, 14,646 consoles a day isn't so bad either.

And this is news how? It looks like 360 should just give up on JP. It sells less than the GBA without backlight.

Wii Freak: Because it freakin rocks! There are simply SO many quality titles available for the DS, and so few for the PSP. Also, did I mention that the DS Lite is very secksy?

I can't believe that the Wii has a 70,000 unit higher sale than the console before it. That's a bit over the top. Which I'm happy about.
