Wii going strong down under

In Australia 32,900 consoles were bought during the first four days of launch. This may not seem like a lot in global terms but it does make the Wii the biggest launching console in the region's history. The DS continues to sell well in Australia too, last week 67% of all console sales were Nintendo machines.

Australia is just not a gaming Hub. Wonder why Nintendo want to launch there? South East Asia countries might even have a higher amount of consoles sale. Too bad the South East Aisans can only import from overseas because they have been left out.

Cool! This probably means they will sell well in New Zealand too. They've sold OK so far, I haven't seen many in stores that say they're stocked.

Well who would have believed it? You cannot buy a Wii for love or money in Sydney and on eBay they are going for up to AUD700 plus. I managed to get 1 of 30 that arrived in Games Wizards and by the time I left the store some 10 minutes later 9 had been sold, with one gentleman buying 2! It is the best console by far for the littler ones and those of us that still act a bit younger than we should. Great stuff! Nintendo have managed to pulled it off, a novel system that really works and a gaming experience like none other. Might even manage to work off those Christmas calories!
