Microphone concept art
There's been a lot of microphone talk lately, with Nintendo rumored to be making an official microphone accessory. Games such as High School Musical and Harry Potter are said to make use of it.
A gadgets magazine based in the UK called T3 has come up with some concept art for a possible microphone attachment to the Wiimote. Is this how it could look?

Wiimote Mic Attachment

I'd prefer a rechargeable Bluetooth Earpiece with a min and a nicer speaker because the WiiMote is slacking a Wii bit there.

That would be sweet.

IMHO, that is a terrible looking attachment. It looks like it does not belong on the wiimote. A headset might be a better idea since it can be used for more games.

Cool.
Wii Freak
That's cool.
Crimson Hawk
That's neat, I knew they would make a microphone attachment once that HSM game was talked about.

Mario Party 8 mic games?
Seamninja
Don't they already have one. Wait no that was for the ds, they should make one like the ds' wireless one.
Scooby Jew
That's retarded. It looks too bulky and unnecessary. There are a lot of better alternatives for a Wiimote speaker, so I hope they choose one.

I like it, but a headset might be more practical for shooters and such.

I knew they'd make more attachments than the nunchuk.

They should make it like the nunchuck (wired). That way you could speak a spell AND wave your wand. Or you could sing AND fight off groupies.
Joel
That might work, but only if there is a place where the nunchuck can be placed in on the bottom of the mic.
Nova
I don't think Big N is going to try Mic Mario Party again. They aren't going to just do special things like that over again. That's part of marketing.

I think that the location of the mic in this picture is horrible because it's going to be very hard to be "swish and flick"-ing while trying to say something into the mic. So yea. I think it is a bad place to put it. Maybe they should put a little thing into the bottom attachment section that wirelessly connects the mic. So you can have some space to move the wiimote and talk at the same time.
TDS
It would be logical to use some type of bluetooth headset.

Looks oK.

After we get this, all we'll need is a printer, keyboard, and maybe something like MS Word.
WiiMii
Those games suck but it is cool.

This schematic will be problematic depending on the game. It would be perfect for a strictly singing game but when it comes to games with voice command and nunchuck use, then we have a problem. The problem with a wireless headset is that it must be paired with the correct player. This is also what I think is a flaw of the classic controller in that it uses the wiimote as a proxy. I like carlton's idea of using the wiimote to fight off groupies. Now I can live my dream of being on idol.

I'm still waiting for news of a camera.
Wii Freak
Well keep waiting.

Mic + wiiconnect24 = phone? Maybe it could be.
DragonFoxCoon
You know what they should do with the mic? Have it connect to a Gamecube controller port, Wavebird style. A Headset would be nice, and I wouldn't mind a clip-onto-the-shirt-whatsit. Until then, I say Advada Kedavra to the whole thing.
Wii Man
Ya'll are saying that it will be hard trying to wave it around while you are singing but Nintendo isn't that clueless! It will probably be for games that don't involve swinging it around like a crazy person.
Knur Kin
I think it looks great like that. Imagine if Nintendo made a voip thing and used that design. Since the speaker is right there, imagine holding your wiimote like a cell phone. See what I mean?
jason
It would align with the remote, not stick out like that.
