Wii overtakes DS in Japan last week

Japanese hardware sales figures are in, and according to Media Create the Wii was top dog for the week of January 8th-14th. The list goes like this:

  1. Wii - 93,708
  2. Nintendo DS Lite - 89,287
  3. PlayStation Portable - 48,804
  4. PlayStation 3 - 25,531
  5. PlayStation 2 - 22,663
  6. Xbox 360 - 9,035

I don't know if anyone noticed this, but- The DS sales are almost double of the PSP. Also, all the Sony systems combined only beat Wii out by 3,293 systems sold. Can you believe that? Nintendo is so owning Sony in Japan. That generally translates into global domination.

Wow. THAT'S impressive, considering the DS Lite's success in Japan. When I went to Tokyo train Station, I saw a bunch of kids hunched over this one boy playing Hotel Dusk: Room 215.

Wii sold the 4 mil point today, another 6 million and it would have caught up with xbox 360.

Wii shall have a bigger userbase than 360 and ps3 by next christmas and ds will own. Looking at tiger woods Wii, ssx Wii, sonic Wii, even the 3rd parties are trying, that combined with Nintendo's efforts has the gaming industry well and truly pimped and every sony fanboy knows it.
