This is clearly an effect of Nintendo's outreach to the casual gamer. I just hope that these sales numbers will influence more 3rd parties to create better product so that the Wii will have some more content for the core gamers as well. But, regardless, hats off to the Wii for surpassing the XBox 360, which essentially has a year's head-start on the other consoles.

Apparently, people could not wait as Wii sold 0.07M more consoles than 360 to proclaim victory. It may seem presumptuous, but it's going to happen anyway.
