It's been known for a while now that Virtual Console games for the Wii will be bought using a points system. Well, this is what a typical points card will look like in all its plain white glory:

As far as we know, the points system still works like this:
While I'll definitely be buying a few choice N64 games that I missed out on, I personally feel these prices are too steep on the whole.

Wii's World is not officially affiliated with Nintendo! (but they wish we were).

Most people are oblivious to the fact that retailers will be charging tax on these cards. It would be wise to have discounts on cards with higher point values. If they happen to be sold online, one has to be on the lookout for counterfeit Wiipoints cards.

What about Genesis and TurboGraffix-16? Ok, I don't care about TG-16, but really! Probably 800 points, like SNES. Same generation, it would make sense.

I simply cannot believe that the N64 games are 10 bucks. I can go over to my local game store and get one for $2.50.

Too much money is right they need to slim down the price on these vc games and bring up the points on the cards. Seriously man I paid less for a lot of these games on cart that I own now and they are in or almost mint.

That is going to be so munch fun, all those awesome snes games. And that is bulk cheap. I hope they have mario all-stars.

There is a large retailer, which shall remain nameless, that is selling a 2000pt card for $24.99 (NO TAX). If you ask me, that is a bit more expensive than the 100pt:$1 ratio that was initially proposed. WAIT. There's more. Certain online retailers still charge S&H! Therefore the prices on VC games are quite deceptive indeed. I'm definitely not impulse buying.

Yes finally all the Super Smash files in one console.

I'm not trusting any retailer that's going to charge more than $20 for a $20 card. That large retailer wouldn't happen to be Gamestop's website, would it? Their prices were always a bit off from their in-store prices, especially before a console launch.

Over here that's an ok deal, about 6.50 for a n64 game. Meh, worth it, since over here they've become a bit of a collectors edition thing. I'd do better to get wind waker again and use the two GC discs since the wii plays them. Does anyone know if the GC games need GC controllers, or can they be played on wii controllers?

YAY Wii POINTS. Are retailers in stores going to sell these? I hope so. At last all console Zelda games, in the palm of my hand literally, the SD cards are tiny.

Aaah I'd love to play Mario 64, Majora's mask and the original Legend of Zelda since I never did get a Nintendo 64 or lower.
