According to research by a site called sust-it, the Wii costs only a fraction to run when compared with the other next-gen consoles, most notably Sony's PS3.
Based on 2 hours usage a day, PS3 users in the UK could expect to pay 47.69 GBP (around $95) each year. The same usage for Wii on the other hand would cost only 2.13 GBP (about 4 bucks).
In the US, Sony's hog comes with a 380W power supply, well over twice the Xbox 360's which is a 165W unit. In terms of energy efficiency and cost to run (and most other things) the PS3 comes in dead last.

Wii's World is not officially affiliated with Nintendo! (but they wish we were).

It's like Maddox said "SONY HATES YOU". That includes mother nature too, I suppose. God Sony, try NOT being completely relentless assholes and maybe you won't suck.

Damn. That's a lot of output for a gaming console. And imagine paying that much to play games in the UK, where they have a TV tax.

When you think about it, those hidden costs really add up. Run the PS3 for 6 years and you end up buying another PS3 for the power company. In addition, you can get 2 Xbox Live Gold subscriptions. Now that you look at it, the PS3 is not a good buy regardless of what angle you take.

I went to Seiyu the other day, and there were 10 PS3s! There were no Wiis at all. Energy efficiency is a big thing in Japan, so maybe that's why the PlayStations are collecting dust.

Damn Sony, can you make people any more broke?

Nintendo care on so many levels, 360 and ps3 show total disregard to fuel costs and the environment. Ps3 and 360 is like having another pc running in your home, it's just plain wrong.

I saw a few ps3s at the store yesterday, they aren't popular and are easy to find.

Tv tax? What planet are you on? I'm in uk, there is no such thing as a tv tax. There's an annual tv license that pays for public broadcasting, there's no tax whatsoever. Watch tv 24/7 for a year in uk it costs you nothing, but the license that's IF YOU GET ONE HA HA.
