Wii and DSi points kept separately
At the DSi's unveiling a week or so back, it was announced that users will be able to download DS games and programs known as DSWare.
Today it's been confirmed that the points cards you buy in stores will be changing. The new type of card can be turned into Wii Points, or DS Points, but not a combination of both.
This seemingly inflexible system means that you won't be able to transfer points back and forth between Wii and DS. How do you feel about that?

That's unconscionably lousy. Boo Nintendo.
SkullHydra
It really depends if the DSi gets any good downloadable games.

Well, yet another unexplainable circumstance from Nintendo. At least they make pretty good innovations, but they can really be a pain in the neck sometimes.

That's fine, they're in it to make money and that's what they're doing.

WHHAATT! That's lousy! Hopefully there's a DS shop that transfers points too. Oh wait.
Diddy Kong Lover
That's stupid, DS and Wii are supposed to compatible but only that Pokemon game has demonstrated such, why couldn't it all be compatible?
Mr Friend
By keeping points separate it means you never have to make any accounts or do anything other than typing in the number on your points card. It's to simplify the online buying process. I think that's worth the few stray Wii points left on my Wii when I upgrade to Wii 2.

Lousy? Why how fifties of you :D. Anyway, I'm going to remain passive on this. We'll see how this turns out. It really depends on the games that come out.
Master Foot
For every good move Nintendo makes, they do something equally as stupid. Aren't these two systems supposed to represent simplicity and accessibility, but yet there are two different currencies.

For as many Wii sales that there are, they shouldn't need money that bad, getting kind of greedy.

Retarded! So you go buy a points card and you have the choice to buy all Wii or all ds with one card but not both, that's stupid. So if I want to buy something for ds and something for Wii I have too buy two cards, come on.

Virtual Console Gameboy games?
Artschoolgrrl
This doesn't bother me, I don't even own a Wii, so I'll purely be using this for the DSi shop.
canelapie
I would only get it if dsi decides to get any good games. They seem pretty lame at the moment.
Ghoul Skull
The dsi and the Wii are so flippen rockin sweet.
jonny
For me the dsi.

I agree with the "retarded" comment. I'm new to the Wii Points system, and now (too late, I bought a Wii Points card) that I know the restrictions, my first Wii Points card will be my last. I have 2 Wiis in the house and I'm not buying 2 games, one for each-- CD games will have to do. And splitting the Nintendo Points in separate DS & Wii points is really stupid too. They should simply have Nintendo points that can be used for all their products. Making things more complicated is not what life is all about.
Lay-Z Boy
It's ridiculous.
