Defend Your Castle User Review
Can be fun.
Ok, I have just got 600 wii points, and I look at all the possible wiiware games I could buy. Now seeing as I'm into the action-ish genre, I decide to give a look at Defend Your Castle.
Gameplay
The aim of the game is to 'fling' enemy attackers away from your castle, which come in different number of groups as you progress on. Obviously, your wii remote is used to to grab the enemies by holding A, then throwing them as high as you can, till they drop to there death. However, at the same time, your castle will get attacked and it's up to you to make sure the 'stickmen' dont pass and attempt to destroy your castle.
What I like about this game is that you can't just do a rubbish small throw, you have to put some effort in to it and throw them high, which I feel makes the game a better challenge.
Features
After passing each level, you are rewarded with points for how many enemies you killed. These points are then used to purchase items that help you in your fight, for example, a converter which changes enemies in to soldiers.
At times, this can be a bit silly, because if you put your soldiers in position as an archer, they'd do one shot, leave it for about 5 mins when I've flung the majority of the group, then shoot another one, which can annoy you slightly.
Graphics
One thing that you'll like about this game is the cartoony graphics. The concept is based on a drawing kind of thing, and it's nice to see the game with hand drawn graphics.
Overall
Overall, I'd have to say it can be fun at times, however, there may be times when you'll feel repetition in the game. Doesnt seem like the best game on the shop channel, but can still be fun and addictive. If you only have 600 points, I wouldn't personally buy it, however it's worth a try if you have about 2000 Wii points.
