Iwata's speech

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata gave a speech recently on Wii and all its happenings. The gist of which is summarized thus:

45 Wii games are in development by Nintendo, many of them "real gamer games" like Super Mario Galaxy. Also 79 DS games are in the works.
14 million Wii consoles to be manufactured in the next fiscal year. The increased shipments should become obvious next month.
2.5 million DS handhelds are being made each month. This surpasses the GBA's peak which was 2.3 million.
Wiimote and Nunchuck pairing was discussed for FPS games. Iwata says that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption feels very close to a keyboard and mouse setup.
3.3 million Virtual Console titles were downloaded so far.
Nintendo have no plans for mobile phones at this time.
Research for hardware development on future consoles is ongoing as always.

That's not that many VC downloads, but mostly because they're not making any good and/or famous games available. Come on, Nintendo, bring the classics back to life today rather than tomorrow.

YES! Such great news! I want to know how the Wiimote and Nunchuck will be a lot better on fps games, because that's the only flaw.

Hmmm. 3.3 Million VC games for 6 million consoles. I guess I am odd for having about 6 or 7 VC games. Most people have 1/2 of a game. Still, I figure that Nintendo makes at least a few bucks on every game, so they have at least cleared a few million $$ already. Sweet deal for them.
