Games for Nintendo's download service the Virtual Console have been priced at 500 - 1000 Japanese Yen. That's between $4.50 and $9.00 in US Dollars. Hopefully most will be at the lower end of this scale.

Wii's World is not officially affiliated with Nintendo! (but they wish we were).

That's ok, but I was hoping they would be lower (I'm a cheap bastard). I have most of the games on my nes and snes though so now I probably won't download a lot of the games.

Actually if you look at the original article, this price only applies to new games, assumably from small production houses who want the savings of developing lower-spec offerings. There is no pricing yet for back catalog items. Hopefully with the new games in this range, all of the old ones will be below $4.50.

Reasonable price.

I'm sure most will be cheap, especially third party games. It's not like the companies can really do anything else with them. They might as well get the free revenue and the cheaper it is the more it'll sell.

The price is pretty much the worst possible thing ever. This is why the console's so cheap.
