Wii only a million behind Xbox360

Sales tracking site VGChartz reports that Wii is less than one million units behind catching the Xbox360 in global sales.

Since launch Wii has enjoyed phenomenal sales, rapidly catching up with the 360 which was launched almost a full year earlier. Current total sales according to VGChartz look like this:

Xbox 360 - 10.14M
Wii - 9.30M
PS3 - 3.78M (lolol)

These numbers aren't guaranteed to be wholly accurate, but are a good indication that the Wii will soon surpass the 360, making it this generation's most successful console. Woop.

Microsoft and Sony sure make big talk about graphical capability being the key to the future of gaming, and I realize that it's their job to stick with their overpriced products, but you have to think a report like this is still at least mildly unsettling for them.

Ha, I have loved Nintendo forever. I hated it when all the Sony fanboys in my school would claim that Nintendo was done for because of the Gamecube's sales and that Sony would rule forever. With a 2.5 to 1 sales ratio, who is laughing now?

Man, just wait until Brawl comes out. It's going to from 10 million to about 14 million overnight. (Exaggerating, of course, but there still is going to be a large number of consoles sold when its most anticipated game finally hits the market). Also, even if the number of sales starts declining the Wii is still going to be the most successful 7th generation console. Everybody knows that, especially Sony and Microsoft.

Xbox 360 was released 1 YEAR before Wii. Microsoft knew the consequences of releasing it early, that their systems will be faulty. They released 360 a year before and for what? Nintendo going to beat them and their consoles are still going to be faulty. As for me I'm cheering for my champion Nintendo all the way.

You know, I've noticed something over the past few weeks. While playing on the Wii and reading about new gaming news on the internet, this article reminded me of the great accomplishments Nintendo's shown from the past decades, with NES, SNES, Gameboy N64, ect. What made me love the Nintendo classics then wasn't the graphics or competing companies (COUGHsony, microsoftCOUGH), but the entertainment provided to even the simplist gamers. Now that Nintendo has new publicity, featuring hot games this fall and more upcoming VC games, Microsoft and Sony don't stand a chance. Nintendo, through years of experience, is still on my #1, so CAN IT Halo 3.
