Cheerleading on Wii

Cheerleading on Wii

THQ has announced it's bringing a cheerleading game onto the Nintendo Wii and DS systems. Titled All Star Cheer Squad, it's aimed at a female audience.

World famous choreographer Tony G is on board to help with the development. ASCS aims to immerse the player in the world of competitive cheerleading, utilizing creativity, customization and teamwork. There's no I in team. THQ's Jim Huntley spoke:

"With the explosive growth of the girls gaming market in recent years due to the continued success of Wii and DS, our ongoing goal is to stay at the cutting edge of that success by bringing a brand new property for this segment to these popular systems. We're thrilled to introduce All Star Cheer Squad to the industry as a triple-a title that will get players involved in the action of what it takes to be an all star as well as make up their own unique cheer routines".

Triple-A? I wouldn't put money on it. The Wiimote and Nunchuk pairing will be used for a wide number of real-world cheer and dance moves. The Wii Balance Board can also be incorporated to get your whole body involved.

The game is scheduled for a Fall release, later this year.

If it's a female aimed game it will suck, plus it's made by THQ. Get it through your heads developers, females have more to them than all those stereotypes.
