Earlier at E3 during Nintendo's keynote speech by Reggie Fils-Aime, Mario Kart Wii was officially announced. It was pretty obvious the franchise would show up on Wii at some point, but it's nice to hear nonetheless.
Unexpectedly however, the game will ship with a steering wheel accessory dubbed the "Wii Wheel". The wheel is said to be very similar to the one Ubisoft packed in with some launch games.
Also of note is that Mario Kart Wii will feature online versus play. It's penned for release early in 2008 for the US.
