Home Run mini-game in SSBB
Sakurai shows us a kind of mini game in today's Super Smash Bros Brawl update. The idea is that you hit the sandbag as far as you can.
You get ten seconds to build up its damage meter and then unleash the baseball bat on it. This can be done in a 2 player mode or even online.

Man, only 400? Not very good. In Melee I could get about 13-1400. I can't wait to try out different 2-player strategies to build up that damage.

Poor Sandbag. Poor update. Notice they're trying to get all the modes out of the way already (camera, Sandbag), but I have never been too fond of this mode.

I like this mode. I'm not too psyched about the online play but it could be fun. I need more information about this.

Heh heh, can't wait to see how insanely far I can get Sandbag to fly. In melee I could get him to fly over 2000 feet, now I want to try to beat that record.

Alright nice update but I hope they bring back target mode and bring the old platform jump thingy and make up a new mode.

There are videos of Super Smash Bros Brawl from the E for All event, and it shows a lot of items, including a spiky creature thing. Also, it has been revealed through one of the videos that you can use final smash more than once per match. That means that Samus has her Zero Laser and Zero Suit Samus has a final smash as well. The videos even show how the Wiimote controls work and how to get smash balls.

They should have used this update to compensate for the delay in the release date. I've always loved playing the Home Run Contest in Melee, and I've even competed against friends and family members. But I always hated accidentally hitting the sandbag off the platform before I meant to with a smash attack that I didn't mean to hit. However, now that there's going to be a shield, that problem's in SSB's past. Also the multiplayer-compatibility is very great indeed. Brawl's going to be so perfect.

Guys, don't be all emo over a "bad update". I loved the home run derby in melee. Brawl needs more modes that are in the same vain as the derby. For starters, an obstacle course challenge. I don't know, you guys think of something.

I must admit trying to get the stage from melee was a real pain. Though somehow I was really pleased when I saw the update. I love the new shield, this is going to open up a whole new world of attack combos in Home-run.

There should be a whole load of minigames. Like a mode where you have to get the most smash balls and whoever gets the most crushes the other players. Or a mode where you could be Assist Trophies. That would rock.

Tip: use mario's fireballs or FLUDD. These attacks will build up damage, but Sandbag won't go too far. I got almost 3, 000 feet with roy one time. Almost forgot, Fox is great to use in this mode too.

I can now say I got 1,200 feet with Mario. Home run contest is easier in this game.
