Frigate Orpheon in Brawl

The Frigate Orpheon is a new stage in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Taken from the legendary Metroid Prime on GameCube, it's the first ship that Samus infiltrates.

In the background the Parasite Queen is in clear view for all. You'll also experience some power outages, leaving you in relative darkness. When a siren sounds, the whole stage will rotate 180 degrees (vertically).

Wait, is this an actual good update? It can't be, but it is! The stage idea is kind of similar to the other Metroid Stage in Melee with Kraid in it (the one where the stage rotates). I wonder what they meant by jump when the alert rings (either that alerts when the stage turns or Mother Brain comes out to play).

Wow this is actually really good. Not only is this stage, like really cool, but it means that the bridge of eldin isn't the only Zelda stage. Don't get me wrong I think it's really cool, but I see some really good twilight princess stage design opportunities open.

"My WIFE". Even though it's a parasite QUEEN. Anyways, this stage is interesting but seriously, the parasite queen fight? It really makes me wonder why there isn't a stage set in Mother Brain's lair.

Oh, and I can't say I like the music much, it's REALLY weird for a march, although it starts sounding a lot better at the end of the clip. Don't like the monophony though, especially in comparison to all the other beautiful polyphonic songs.

I love the stage. I just beat Metroid Prime over the weekend and loved it. This is going to be pretty intense with the whole power going out and it turning 180 degrees. If Ridley is in, the game will be perfect. As for the song, I actually like it and I don't understand why everyone is criticizing it. It sounds very dramatic and perfect for New Pork City stage.

I wonder if when it turns, it does it real fast because if it does turn and it's slow, you would have to keep jumping until the next thing comes or else you'll fall.

That's a little rude DKX900. Nintendo is doing their best with these updates. Its probley hell back in Japan, since their release date is January 30th.

The alarm means the stage is about to flip (or rotate, whichever you prefer). The Parasite Queen stays in the background (thankfully).

Here's the 411 for this stage. When you hear the siren, that means the stage is about to flip. So you don't get caught under the stage with no way back you have to jump when you hear the siren. And Gina Beets, it flips fast. And one more thing, Frogman, don't get excited about Ridley being playable, he is a boss in the adventure mode.

You have to be careful on this stage because when the stage flips, you could get stuck underneath. You can probably guess what happens, elevator going down.
