Events in Mario & Sonic Olympics

Sega has released a list of the events that will take place in upcoming sports-fest Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games.

  • Fencing
  • Archery
  • Shooting (Skeet)
  • Gymnastics - Trampoline
  • Gymnastics - Vault
  • High Jump
  • Pole Vault
  • Long Jump
  • Triple Jump
  • Javelin
  • Hammer Throw
  • Rowing - Single Sculls
  • Table Tennis
  • Aquatics (100m Freestyle)
  • Aquatics (400m Freestyle)
  • Hurdles (110m and 400m)
  • Relay (400m Relay)
  • Track (100m and 400m)

In addition to these there will also be mini-games and quizzes to play. Expect it on the shelves for November 22nd.

For quite some time now I'd been thinking how neat it would be to have a game about the Olympics. Add Sonic and Mario, and you're pretty much asking for success. I really want to see this baby in action.

I knew fencing was in. An interview with Miyamoto-san himself shows that he let slide that fencing is in the game, so since I watched it, I knew it before lotsa you guys!

Sonic would beat Mario at everything except swimming. They probably make Sonic wear lead shoes to slow him down a bit. SONIC RULES.

It doesn't make too much sense to put swimming in it, most sonic characters can't swim. Seeing the picture up above I guess Nintendo knew that!

Now it's starting to look interesting. It'll be one of those classic party games like Rayman and Wii Sports.

Either way this is a game I got to get. My first character will be yoshi of course, luigi, and then I can't decide between mario or sonic so I'll probably go with knuckles.
