Just a small update from Sakurai today on the official Smash Bros Brawl site. It's to do with standard combos. Previously you did these with repeated presses on the attack button, you can still do that, but if you'd prefer you can just hold the button down.

I was hoping that they would have brought aerial combos like in Marvel VS Capcom. This new addition takes the "dial-a-combo" thing to a whole other level.
