Weren't there 4,000,000 initially shipped out though? It seems like there should have been more sold. I think another thing that would help sales would be to actually let people play them in stores. Every store I've gone to has had them behind a glass case with a promotional video playing. I haven't even seen a controller yet! If consumers could actually experience the Wii in-store, I think more people would be interested.

At one store, a lady said that there would be Wii's on the shelves by Sunday. Later on, I call to check to make sure if they are keeping up with plan. WHEN I talked with the manager on the phone, they said they sold them on Saturday! I was OUTRAGED! Luckily for that manager, I didn't blow up at him.

The reason 600,000 have been sold is because that's how many have been released in the states. The rest have been shipped (however, not released) to all the other regions.

If you see a Wii console in a koisk, but no controllers, it's because you have to ask for the controllers and give them a valid ID. This was decided by Nintendo so people could get full motion of the wiimote without being tethered to a kiosk. However there are no signs saying this and many people are mistaking them for just viewing promotion and not actually playable. They are though.

The initial idea hit me hard but the specs hurt me. AA batteries? No DVD player? But screw it, Wii is way better than PS3 or 360. I mean Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Zelda, Twilight Princess. Its great. Is it just me or should they make Mario Kart?

Good job to everyone who got one. I still have hope on getting one before 2007, but it's somewhat slim. I'm traveling to a huge city soon, so it could be a little easier to find one. According to Best Buy, Wii hardware is available in BLACK or PINK. I would personally like a black one.
