Excite Truck

Get ready for big-air jumps and bone-crunching crashes in EXCITE TRUCK, an off-road racing experience unlike anything players have tried before.

  • Tilt the Wii Remote right and left like a steering wheel to steer. Once the truck goes airborne, tilt the Wii Remote every which way to line up perfect landings for turbo boosts.
  • When players run over exclamation point icons on the course, the terrain morphs in real time - turning innocent bumps into massive launch pads.
  • In the spirit of Excitebike, success depends on dodging obstacles at high speeds, pulling off huge airs and lining up perfect landings.

How to progress through the game: In EXCITE TRUCK, the main goal is to jump and bump to the highest score and best finish. The more points players gain, the higher their status grows - which in turn unlocks new courses. When players first start the game, they'll need to pass a series of tutorial challenges that teach the basics of driving and racing a truck. After they've completed those challenges, they can enter Excite Mode and race against other trucks in a series of globe-spanning races. During the race, they hold the Wii Remote sideways and turn it to steer around corners and fly off of huge jumps. In the air, players can tilt the Wii Remote to control their descent. If they land with all four tires touching the ground, they'll get a massive speed boost. Each dangerous stunt players pull off will earn stars. The total number of stars players earn determines their race rating. As players complete series of races, they will unlock even more challenging racing courses.

Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Each truck has a turbo charger that gives it a huge temporary speed boost. However, if players use the turbo too much, their engine will overheat. At the beginning of the game, players have access to only a handful of vehicles. As they earn points for completing races, they'll unlock additional trucks and buggies. During races, they can collect pick-ups that dynamically morph the terrain or make trucks temporarily powerful enough to send trees flying.

Very good

Excite Truck is what a lot of people are crying out for on Wii. When they're sick of tennis and baseball, and are stumped with a dungeon in Zelda, there's nothing better than to pick up a simple, fun, arcade racer and blast around islands in ridiculously over-powered...read full review

The Wiimote at its best (other than using it as a sword).

Is this a sequel to Excite Bike?

It is indeed, it's made by the same people I think. I love the way that jumps just pop up out of the ground.

Deformation physics, way sweet. This game will be far more polished at launch. A racing game I actually want to buy, weird.

This seems like a game my sisters will like, they are all preppy but then love games where there's insane racing! Oh, and I hope it has minigames like Race up the Mountain like ExciteBike had, or more appropiate, Race DOWN The Mountain!

What's the truck so happy about? Oh yeah, and the graphics are pretty damned good on this one. The gameplay I'm assuming, will be "meh" in my opinion.

Never really liked racing games, but this definitely looks like insane amounts of fun with the wiimote. Let's just hope it's got some new things to add to the racing genre (other than the controller obviously).

This game looks amazing! I mean, you get to use the Wii-mote as a steering wheel. This is going to be one of the first games I buy.

The Excite Bike game was a spectacular game for the NES and I think that Excite Truck is going to be the same for the Wii, especially because of the way you control it with the Wiimote. That's going to rule. My summary: A game worthy of your money.

Woo! I've played this at a kiosk for the last two days and I can say this: Excite Truck=racing awesomeness incarnate. And I'm not even a racing fan.

The graphics are awesome and the gameplay is massively fun. After playing for an hour at GameStop yesterday though, I'd have to conclude that it's just too difficult to control with the Wii-Mote. I found it very frustrating trying to keep the truck going straight after making even the slightest of turns. There may be a sensitivity option that I didn't see while I was playing though. I sure hope so, because it seemed like barely moving the controller would force you out of control and it was difficult to get back on the correct path. Also, the trajectory going off big jumps is difficult to nail and you will often land outside the course, ruining your chances of victory. There are so many obstacles (like trees, for instance) that you WILL run into hundreds of times during your first hour or so with this game.

OMG that was SO fun! I just got back from playing it, it RAWKS! The steering is incredibly accurate and realistic but it is easy to crash. Also, the graphics WERE pretty good.

This game rocks! Whenever I'm playing it, I'll always put on some metallica. The controls are hard, but you get the hang of it. Nintendo says that they aren't focusing on graphics that much, but excite truck has some impressive visuals. The truck physics are slick and the environment looks pretty damn realistic. The crashes are really cool. The feeling of the impact is like you're really behind the wheel. This game is a must buy if you enjoy crazy, arcade-style action!

I have this game now. It has hard controls, but it's still good.

I own excite truck, and it is definitely a five out of five. The controls are actually extremely easy to use and the physics jump is easy to control unless you go crazy with the remote before jumping. You can put your own music on it through an sd card but it must be plain old mp3. There is a two player mode that is a blast with friends because of the crashes, and watching them in the replay afterwards is as fun as playing (there are INSANE crashes!). All in all a great game that can be played for a long time.
