I heard that in this game you can be any character ever made or thought up by the makers. That means a lot more moves and kombos and a harder 1-Player mode.
Mortal Kombat is something I grew up with. I love the MK series. I hear you can create your own fighter too! While I love MK, I wish they'd update or release a new Street Fighter. Not just a re-hashed SF2.
MK is a great game, simple as that. Its awesome graphics and fighting system is a perfect way to manipulate Wii technology to make it even better!

Mortal Kombat is the best but I have to give it to Tekken fans, their graphics are amazing.
I think that the makers of Mortal Kombat just kind of gave up after the first movie was made. I can prove this with one sentence: Watch Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. You'll see how cheesy it is and you'll agree with me along with hours of laughter. One last comment: The early 90's Mortal Kombat games ruled, but after the N64 came out the games just sort of began to repeat themselves. And not in a good way.

MK Annihilation is a joke, SERIOUSLY! They tried to incorporate every character but created a mess. The animalities were cheesy and they should have just topped it off with friendship, brutality and babality. I still watch it for comic releif. MK2 is the best in my book.

I never got into arcade fighting games because I could never remember those complex combos (A+A+B+B+L+U+U+D+c). But perhaps this will be more fun because of those nice controllers.

My friend loved deadly alliance, he played it all the time until he put it in his Gamecube and it just wouldn't play because of scratches.

No offense to the MK fans but don't you think it gets extremely repetitive after a while? I mean you'd think they would at least improve on the blood. It just comes out in thick blankets and falls on the floor like a gob of red snot. I would like to see more of ripping the opponents arm off and making them slowly lose health. Or also seeing that when you get hit their is visible damage like on fight night. But instead they do the exact same thing, however making your own character is pretty cool. Still, its been done already in other games. If they want to make that make your own character good, they should make it really detailed. Kind of like how you can customise your character on a golf game or basketball.

I have MK for the SNES. You can beat every opponent with just continously using the flying jump kick.
Mortal Kombat completely owns any other fighting game out there. Any game with Jonny Cage, Lui Kang and Raiden will be a hit.
Looks fun, but if this uses the D-Pad to move like the others, I'm not wasting my good hard bribed money.
Ryan, I perosnally think MK is the best fighting seires. But I know a lot of hardcore Super street fighter 2 fans that would beg to differ.
I'd much rather have a virtual console port of MK2 than this.

You know, I have no idea if tekken or mortal kombat are either any good, so I'm going to stay out of that argument, but the graphics on this look pretty nice.
Just how popular is this godforsaken series!? I don't like those types of fighting games. I like FGs like Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Samurai Shodown, Guilty Gear, etc.
