My little brother absolutely loves the series so we will probably end up getting it whether or not it's crap. Sigh. Licensed games, why must you disappoint us so often? Hopefully this will be different. I hear the buzz on the Wii Harry Potter is really good.

So The Golden Compass is licensed? I've never heard of it. And I agree with Crimson Hawk; are these pre-rendered, made-just-for-the-hype pictures, or are they real in-game shots?

I've read the first and halfway through the second. I couldn't keep reading after that point because the story itself. I don't see how that that story could become a game. Only two or three parts that could be game worthy compared out of the inch thick paperback.

This was an amazing book, and it will be awesome to have a shape shifting demon friend and a huge polar bear as allies.

It's a good book series. Right now I'm on The Amber Spyglass (if anyone knows what I'm talking about). I hope the movie is good too. The game, however I'm not that confident about because if I remember the book correctly "Shiny" will have to make up random levels completely unrelated to the book.
