Capoeira Martial Arts announced

Graffiti Entertainment has revealed some info about a new game heading to Wii, among other platforms. It's Martial Arts Capoeira, a traditional fighting game with sports and RPG elements added.

  • 12 fighters to choose from.
  • Up to 10 customizable fighting styles.
  • Training sessions to improve your skills.
  • Fight to win money, bet against opponents.
  • Many game modes, including Arcade, Tournament, Quick Fight, Survival and Training.
  • Motion-captured Capoeira moves available to watch.

A demo video is also available. I would hesitate to call it a trailer, since it's way bland without any music.

Call me negative, but I don't have high hopes for this one. It needs a lot more sonic booms and flash kicks.

I feel the fighting genre is filled, and no new fighting series could possibly be successful any more. Mortal Kombat, Smash Bros., Tekken (spelling?). These games will rule the genre, and I feel no other games could possibly intrude their wrath.

How can you have high hopes just basically watching a tech demo? It's so early on it's not even showing basics.

This game looks retarded. It's just the same move over and over.

Kasumi Ninjas for Jaguar looks more fun. Aren't Super Smash Bros., Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat enough?

I love shiitake mushrooms! Especially as a steak sauce.

I practice capoeira (have been for 5 years), and I can easily tell that all of you have no idea what is coming to the Wii. This is going to be a game that will rock the world, these demos don't game it the justice it deserves. Just wait and see. And there are a ton of more kicks in capoeira than what you just saw. The game is based in a real martial art that is not easy to learn. Most of you idiots would probably hurt yourself trying to do even one of the so called boring kicks as you fools have called them.

I play Capoeira too, but man. This is disappointing. Yeah, it is just a demo, but really, you can play this exact game in "Capoeira Fighter 3" for free online. Really. They would be better off getting some brilliant Brazilian to create the game. Muito axe.
