Publishers EA are developing a version of Monopoly for Wii. In case you were born yesterday, Monopoly is a popular board game by Hasbro where players aim to buy up as much property on the board as they can.
Electronic Arts' game is to be based on the Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition, but with more of a "party twist". Up to four players will be supported, with faster gameplay on boards you've never seen before. Mini-games will also be on hand (aren't they always) for events like getting out of jail.
Chip Lange of EA's casual division commented:
"EA is taking Monopoly's core gameplay and bringing it to life in a way never before imagined. We've accelerated the pace of play, added new interactive mini-game sequences and integrated multiplayer moments designed to make Monopoly a non-stop party for the whole family".

Wii's World is not officially affiliated with Nintendo! (but they wish we were).

Why would Wii owners want to play monopoly?

I wasn't too fond of the here and now edition, it made all dollar amounts in millions and the tokens were weird.

You know, if this is less random than Mario Party, it could be fantastic. I hate being in the lead in Mario Party just to have some random event throw me in last.

Could it be the beginning of the Mr Monopoly Party series?

Wiiware or disk? It seems like it would a bit much if it were on a disk.

It should be Nintendo characters in it.

I hated monopoly party, so I'm probably going to hate this game too. If I somehow get this game in a bizarre twist of fate however, I get to be the car.

Not surprised. I was expecting to see this with a Monopoly movie in the works.

I wonder if this will be network enabled.

This has WiiWare written all over it. If it's a disc, there'd better be online.

Although I don't see the point of Monopoly for Wii, the headline's a good pun considering Big N already has a monopoly on the market.

Listen, I know this isn't exactly on topic, but who thinks PN03 should get another chance? This time with the Wii Balance Board. Think about it.

Hey, guys, have any of you heard of the Nintendo version of monopoly?
Wiipaw said:
This is somewhat off topic, but Big Brain Acadamy makes a pretty freakin' sweet board game.

Hey I got monopoly for Wii today and it came in a deal where you got a remote, Wii play and monopoly for AUS $100. It is pretty cheap for $30 considering it was $70+ I got it because of the normal price and figured it must be good. It is online as well which will be fun.

Very cool, it's like a monopoly game with a party twist.
