The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has gifted Nintendo with an Emmy Award, recognizing the breakthrough innovative interfaces used in both the Wii (motion sensing) and DS (touch screen).
Don James, VP of operations at Nintendo commented:
"The pioneering interfaces for Wii and Nintendo DS reflect our long tradition of seeking new ways to enhance the gaming experience for users at every level. We're grateful for this award and thank the academy for honoring us".
This is the second Emmy for Big N in as many years. At the last ceremony they were lauded for inventing the D-Pad.

I'm surprised that Nintendo didn't win an award for creating the analog stick. It was such an improvement that all of the game companies copied Nintendo and started using them. *coughs* Sony and Microsoft *coughs*.
