Pipe Mania, a hit game originally from the 80s is set to make a comeback thanks to publishers Empire.
A simplistic puzzle game at heart, Pipe Mania has you inserting various pieces of pipe onto a grid. You have to complete a circuit before the onrushing water/slime/urine comes out the end. First released in 1989 on DOS, Commodore Amiga and Atari ST, it was eventually ported onto over a dozen systems through the 1990s.
In more recent times, this style of gameplay has been used in modern games like Resident Evil 4, BioShock and.. TimeSplitters: Future Perfect (I think), mostly as a mini-game to simulate hacking into an electronic door or system. As we all know, computer hacking is just like pipe fitting.
Empire plans to extend the game mechanics and modes before bringing it to today's audience. It'll be coming to both the DS and Wii, whether that's as WiiWare or a boxed game it's unknown. Release dates are unspecified too.
