A number of pubs in the UK are installing Wii consoles to keep the customers entertained while they drink.
One such venue is the Brixton Bar & Grill in London, run by Adam Billingham. Business on midweek nights was typically quiet before installing the Wii, but a weekly "Wii love Wednesdays" event has seen trade pick up dramatically. Drinkers compete against each other while spectators can watch on the large screen.

Despite being free to play, Adam claims the Wii has already more than paid for itself since it makes people stay longer.
"The last people to leave will always be the people playing the Wii. Selling another 10 pints at 10:45pm, it quickly pays for itself".
"A lot of our customers are women, who Nintendo has targeted so well. It has made Wii more accessible to people who would not otherwise be playing on games consoles".
According to Adam the only problem has been finding extra controllers to meet the demand, since the rush to buy Wiis over the Christmas period was intense.

Great idea for money-making, but not so great an idea to keep injuries and lawsuits at a minimum. I mean, if sober idiots are breaking their own noses with a controller, imagine what drunken idiots could accomplish. I might be missing key details here, but that's just what I think about it.

They installed Wiis in these locations: Library - So a few people could play for 15 minutes while the others waiting have to reed books (while glancing at the screen. Beer Bars - To get entertained while getting drunk. They better not buy Mario Kart Wii. Should install Wiis here: Schools - Too much learning. We need to squeeze in a little fun. Play during lunch in the cafeteria and entertain people eating. Restaurants - More hungry people need entertainment.
