About me: A gamer of almost twenty-five years, I enjoy playing nearly everything this great industry has to offer. I was raised on Nintendo in the nineties and their games and hardware have always been among my favorites and will always have a place in my collection. However, when I'm not playing my Wii U or 3DS, you can find me on Xbox Live or playing on one of my many retro consoles.

on Game of the Year 2014...

True. I've put in a pretty significant amount of time into the online for Mario Kart 8 and I've rarely dealt with any kind of lag. I haven't put a lot of time into the online for Smash, but I have noticed lag in a lot of the matches I have played. It is a shame, but I guess it has to do with different teams working on the game. Perhaps the Mario Kart team just had a better understanding of netcode and online than the Smash team did. I guess this is the difference between a game being developed in house and one being handed off to a third party.

on Game of the Year 2014...

Looks like I need to play Bayonetta 2, since it seems to be pretty popular on this list. My final two came down to Mario Kart 8 and Shovel Knight, so I completely agree with Mario Kart being on this list as well. It was a banner year for Nintendo consoles in 2014, so it was actually a really difficult choice to choose just one game. I'm also honestly surprised there's no Smash on this list, but I guess there is still a chance one of our other staff members could pick it (Where's your pick, Rob? ;)). Good job all around, guys!

on Is Nintendo Making A New Wii U Gamepad?...

I wouldn't complain if the GamePad was a little smaller, but since having two GamePads is pointless, I just don't see myself getting one of these.

on Why the Inclusion of The Duck Hunt Dog in Super Smash Bros. Was Brilliant...

This finally paves the way for a Duck Hunt revival, similar to what happened with Kid Icarus after the release of Brawl. Being a thirty-something gamer myself, I was overjoyed when I saw that Duck Hunt was in the game, and I became even more happy when I saw he actually wasn't half bad. Great job, Joe. This was a really fun article to read.

on New Legend of Zelda Wii U Gameplay Shown at The Game Awards...

The first look at the game was great, the fact that they also decided to sneak announcements for Star Fox and Majoras Mask was a nice touch. Knowing the order we're getting those three games lets us know we're getting three great games spread throughout the year.

on Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem Rumored to be Cancelled...

That would actually be pretty disappointing, but we haven't seen or heard a thing on the game since that initial teaser back in 2013, so I wouldn't be too surprised. I was wondering about this when Atlus was bought by Sega last year, and I wonder if that buyout is part of the reason for this project getting axed. Well, I guess on the plus side this will give the teams time to work on new core series titles instead of this cross over. I wouldn't mind seeing a new SMT and/or Fire Emblem to make up for this.

on Yacht Club Games Interview...

This was a good read. I am glad to hear that they have so much planned for Shovel Knight, it was easily one of the best games I have played this year and I am very happy to know that I'll have plenty of opportunities to revisit it in the future.

on Super Smash Bros. Overload...

That's a lot to take in. I'm really looking forward to this, only about a month left to wait.

on Teslagrad review...

This looks like something I would enjoy, I'll have to pick it up when it comes to retail. Nice review.

on Game Freak Exploring Amiibo Functionality...

This isn't too surprising to me. The fact that Nintendo previously released NFC figurines for Pokemon Rumble U led me to believe that we would see this eventually. Honestly, this doesn't even both me that much. If I could pay a small amount of money to be able to obtain Pokemon that were previously exclusive to events, like Mew and Celebi, I would happily buy these figurines.

on Hyrule Warriors review...

It's a little disappointing that the game isn't better, but I'd still like to play it eventually. It's been years since I played a Dynasty Warriors title, so I may be able to get some enjoyment out of it. I'm not the biggest Zelda fan, but it's something to play on the Wii U until Smash drops later next month. Good review.

on Sakurai Explains Why Smash Bros. for 3DS Doesn't Support Circle Pad Pro...

This doesn't bother me too much, I feel the demo plays fine as is. It's unfortunate that anyone who already bought a Circle Pad Pro isn't able to use it, but lets face it, any competitive level play is going to stick to the Wii U. So really, this isn't that big a loss. Nintendo gave us back our GameCube controllers after all, and we can't have everything.

on Plantinum's Kamiya Explains Why Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U Exclusive ...

I'm totally fine with it being exclusive. I played the original on the Xbox 360 and Bayonetta 2 was part of my reason for getting a Wii U. So, even it were multiplatform, I would still get it on the Wii U.
