Red Steel is one of the best first person shooters I've played for a long time. There are many websites giving this game quite harsh scores, but you know they only dislike Nintendo and so that's why they do it.

First of all the graphics really did impress me, all the gossip about how the Wii was underpowered was total rubbish, they have put a lot of effort into the look of the game and they gave it an original look. Aren't we fed up with world war 2 games? This was a breath of fresh air, using the wiimote is too, if you're used to mouse and keyboard control you will pick it up fairly quickly.

The way you pick up items, reload and open doors is simply very clever. Sword fighting is also fun, but not as responsive as I would like. I've only been playing this game for 2 days but I can't wait to play it again, and multiplayer looks as though it could be quite addictive. Personally I hope they bring out a Red Steel 2, with more multiplayer levels and online play, but as a launch title you can't get any better than this.
