Alleged groovy guy Earthworm Jim will be making an appearance on WiiWare and other download networks, as confirmed by publishers Interplay.
Currently being worked on by developers Gameloft in France, it's unclear whether this will be a remake, an entirely new game, or something in between (there's some speculation it will borrow ideas from Earthworm Jim 4). Interplay's CEO commented:
"Earthworm Jim resonates with millions of people worldwide and we're excited to have one of the best developers in the industry create this game for a new audience. Gameloft's creativity coupled with its innate knack for innovative games, makes us 100% confident that the result will be nothing short of stellar".
Jim hopes to be landing in the fourth quarter of 2009.
*UPDATE* - It's now known that the game will be a remake of the first Earthworm Jim from SNES/Genesis.
