Nintendo have been in profits within the games industry for the past 20 years, they have never made a loss. DS profits, Gamecube profits, Wii shall profit. Sony's music and general electrical isn't doing so good. PSP sells at a loss and no one buys PSP movies or games. PS3 is way too expensive and shall sell at a loss. I feel Sony are treading on thin ice but Nintendo are doing great.

Sony's thinking is extremely linear and causing their downfall. They seem to think the market can be bought over with more powerful products, but as seen with the Nintendo DS this strategy won't always work. In the long run the customers will tire of it. The PS3 looks almost exactly like the PS1 and PS2, including the controllers, except with more powerful specs. I personally have tired of this and I think Nintendo has done a wonderful job giving me something creative and original to look forward to. I must concede, the lack of power the Wii has causes some sadness in my heart, because I would have loved to see that extra power combined with the Wii's brilliant design, but I do see the reason behind this and put my trust in Nintendo.

Great analysis aaron. Anyways, something tells me that PS3 is the last effort in gaming for Sony. They are pushing a 10 year lifespan but in 5 years, the Wii2 will be better than the PS3 in all respects. If the PS3's launch is perfect, then Sony's back in business (unfortunately), but we all know that you have a higher chance of "Halo Wii" coming out than PS3 having a perfect launch.

The people at Sony are idiots. The PS3 was slated to have 3 HDMI ports and extra useless crap (this was when they revealed the prices!). Like I have 3 plasma HDTVs laying around. They "say" that they were scrapped because of production costs. Even afterwards, the prices are STILL THE SAME! Millions of faulty laptop batteries + dead UMD + high cost + sketchy BluRay = RECIPE FOR DISASTER. Sony is going to rape us with microtransactions and useless music and movie downloads to recoup. I REALLY hope that Wii is compatible with USB hard drives so it can be a media center with 2x space at 1/2 the price. Sony, where's my damn toast!
