THQ bringing WWE to Wii

THQ bringing WWE to Wii

THQ have announced they are making a new incarnation of the WWE franchise, which will be available on both the Wii and DS.

Not only this but they are continuing heavy support for the Wii with 11 titles in the coming year. Among these will be Ratatouille and a supposed sequel to Cars.

President of THQ, Brian Farrell commented "Nintendo has always been a very, very strong platform for us. I think you should be thinking about Wii as incrementally more positive for us than PS3". Rock on indeed.

I don't play wrestling games (no offense to anyone who does) but I can tell wrestling fans will jump all over this. "Yeah! I can REALLY fake kick this guy in the balls!". If the control scheme is awesome, I'd play it. I would just ignore the mostly naked men jumping around the screen and touching each other in questionable ways.

Day of rec 2 on cube was probably the best wrestler ever in gameplay and graphics. A wiimote and nunchuck and graphics upgrade would be great, plus add the missing voices

If you say WWE as a word, guess what it sounds like!

Come on, come out already! I wonder what the controls will be. Will it be smackdown vs. Raw 07 with triple H on it or smackdown vs. Raw 08 with someone else on it?

Elementrat that is funny! I really don't like wrestling (no offense to people who do), but so many people tell me it's fake when on the show it looks so real.

Even though wrestling is fake, I play it for the fun of it. Having a season mode and rising to the top to win the championship. Controlling your brand in General Manager mode, creating your superstar, or just beating the heck out of someone with a sledgehammer. It's fun someway. And plus, imagine with the wiimote!

Fighting games themselves are awesome. I'm a huge SSBM fan but a wrestling game just doesn't get me going. I don't really think it would be that fun.
