Mario Strikers wi-fi based on region

Mario Strikers wi-fi based on region

In a recent interview Mike Inglehart of Next Level games spoke about Mario Strikers Charged and its online component.

"This game is about multiplayer and that's been our focus from the beginning. Wi-fi in Mario Strikers Charged is region specific so we can ensure a quality gameplay experience. The game is very twitch based and reactive, so it's important for us to keep lag to a minimum".

Some are up in arms about not being able to compete against other people worldwide, but would you really want to play a game that lags like ass?

Mario Strikers Charged is to be Europe's first online game, the service is set to go online next month.

My problem is that I don't live in the US but I bought it there. Will it say my region is Virginia or where I live now, which is very far away? If it says the us then I don't think I'll buy it because of the lag, especially if it is focused on multiplayer.

Nice to see Nintendo being honest about lag and dealing with it. Xbox live and its lag on 8mb bb, this is what non-Nintendo fans don't get. Nintendo cares about quality.

Yeah, the DS mariokart lagged really bad sometimes. Sometimes I even finished first and it counted it as second or worse. So yeah. I'm glad about this.

I would definitely miss being able to play against those cheating asians (J/K). But I won't mind this really. I think a Twitch game should maintain the highest reaction speed possible.

What!? Does that mean I can only play with Americans, or I can only play with people in Hawaii? Because if only Hawaii, I know 0 people who play soccer.
