The first thing that came to mind when playing this game was, hey this is kind of like Castle of Shikigami or Touhou and you know what it kind of is, and then again it really isn't.

The gameplay is fun and can be challenging at later points in the game. Personally I think it is more enjoyable when you add three more people to the mix, then watch as the screen fills with bullets at ever corner of the screen. You control a ship while shooting enemies and collecting power ups on the way to the goal all while trying to get a score that will let you pass through the gate, if you don't have enough points by the end of the trip then get ready to go boom! Loosing a life causes you to lose points and that's what makes playing with more people a little more difficult. My friends and I were laughing and calling each other names (playfully) while playing this game, it's just a better overall experience when your playing with multiple people.

Gyrostarr screenshotControls feel stiff at times, but you soon get used to them and they become natural as you progress through the game. That's all I can say, it just feels good to hold your Wii remote like a NES controller, there's just something satisfying about it that I can't explain.

Unfortunately I did get kind of bored playing the game by myself, it's just not the same unless you have two or more people playing with you, it's the same feeling I had while playing Bit trip Beat, it's just one of those games where an extra player makes a huge difference. Some levels can look the same and can get kind of boring, but that doesn't mean you'll be throwing this game down in a week. I find it still fun to play the game in single player, you'll find yourself wanting to go back and playing this game after awhile it leaves a pretty good impression on you. And even though you may not pick it up every day that doesn't mean that it doesn't make an awesome party game.

The graphics are pretty, that's the best I can describe it for you. It's very colorful and your eyes will have plenty keeping them busy seeing enemies as well as the colorful road. There is one certain ship that is hard to see, because it practically has the exact shading of the area around it, that can get kind of annoying, but it can also give yourself a little challenge.

Overall I think it's a pretty rad game, if you got the money I would check it out, but if these kind of fast paced shooting games don't do it for you then I would probably pass and play it at a friends, but hey who knows maybe you'll enjoy this game more than any you've ever played before.
