Spastic train back on the rails

Spastic train back on the rails

Hoot hoot! A week or so back we heard that Mario Party 8 had been recalled in the UK. The reason being it contained the word 'spastic' which was deemed offensive.

Nintendo are pleased to announce a revised version of the game will relaunch on August 3rd. Rejoice.

Mario Party 8 modified.

Psh. That's really rational. Recall possibly millions of games just to change one "offensive" word. That just makes too much sense, I don't even know why it doesn't make sense to me. Maybe I'm just stupid.

I agree with Scooby Jew. Unless it accidently included "f---" in it, there was no reason to recall Mario Party 8. But I'm not British, so I don't know how offensive "spastic" is.

Spastic is a dreadful word in the UK. It's a slang word for disabled people and I cannot stress how awful a word it is. The Wii has been used in a lot of schools for physically disabled children as good therapy. It must have been awful for them to hear it.

It would be such an irony (or something like that) if they changed it to 'retarded'.

I second that.

Tabsina, that's almost the definition of irony.
