Okami Wii info

Christian Svensson is Vice-President of Strategic Planning at Capcom. Recently he's been making posts on the official forums, offering some new details about Okami on Wii.

  • Paintbrush strokes using the Wiimote has a learning curve of around 10 minutes.
  • No new content has been added, but still around 40-60 hours of gameplay.
  • The Wii version is practically complete, currently going through testing.
  • Option to skip dialog segments now included.
  • Marketing campaigns will be in place, but no TV advertising.
  • Possible release in March (subject to change).
  • Brief delay between US and European releases.
  • Wii version is "even more beautiful than it was on the PS2".

For those of us who never played the original, this is something to look forward to.

I wonder whether the Wii being "more beautiful than the ps2" has to do with a graphical increase, or just better processors slowing down less.

Good, good. I'll take it otherwise.

I don't know what this is. Is it painting?

I'm not sure, but I think it's an RPG that takes place inside a painting. It uses some pretty cool cell-shaded graphics.

I looked it up, and it looks very abstract. I would enjoy it.

Didn't one of those guys say in an interview that the game will look exactly the same? I hate to be negative and all, but I will be surprised if the game runs in progressive scan.

Oh my god I wanted this game so bad I played the demo for the ps2. It was magnificent, now it's on Wii! I'm dead.

It's the Legend of Zelda, with a magic paintbrush. No new content.

"more beautiful", eh. That's good but vague news. A release date would have been nice, though. I'm really looking forward to this one.

I like the new improvements. Especially the skipping cutscenes part.

If it's polished up properly and Wiimote is as good or better than resident evil 4 Wii edition, then I'm in.

That wolf god is so beautiful. I'll get the game just for that.
